RADAN™ is GSSI’s state-of-the-art
post-processing software. With its modular design, this
program allows users to select the processing functions that
best suit their professional needs. RADAN is also Windows™ based,
providing a familiar and easy to use environment for all levels
of experience.
Developed over a 20 year span by a team of programmers with PhD’s
from some of the finest universities in the world, RADAN was designed
to be robust but also the most easy-to-use GPR processing software
in the industry. The most recent RADAN enhancement from our
experienced team is GPS Integration, which allows GPS position
data files and GPR scans to be integrated automatically.

RADAN also features simplified 3D viewing. The 3D QuickDraw
module provides enhanced 3D viewing options in a single dialog
box. Users can stretch, shrink or zoom in on files as
desired for customized presentation results. The QuickDraw
module also allows the entire data cube to be “sliced and
diced” along various x, y, and z planes. This allows
the user to easily interpret complex areas and to make sense
of the data. With QuickDraw’s simple, intuitive click
and drag interface, viewing multiple slices and rotating the
data for a better view is a snap.
The Interactive 3D module also affords users the ability to
show multiple interactive views of 2D and 3D data simultaneously
and to create shapes (pipes, drums, lines, etc.) in the GPR data,
which can then be exported for integration with CAD drawings. This
way, the data can be presented to the client in a familiar, easy
to understand format. All of these 3D options provide users
with unparalleled data interpretation and presentation capabilities
that allow them to showcase their expertise, make better interpretations
and get more jobs.
GSSI has also created several application specific modules within
RADAN to allow diverse professionals to gain the best GPR results
available within their trade:
Construction Professionals:
StructureScan Optical Data Processing – processes
the data collected from the StructureScan Optical bar code system,
the industry’s most simplified GPR data collection method.
Structure Identification Module – allows
for a broad range of civil/structural applications. This
module’s versatility is used for automatic target detection
and can locate multiple types of reinforcement within the same
survey area. It can clearly trace utilities that cross over
one another, which makes data interpretation much simpler.
Road and Highway Professionals:
Road Structure Assessment Module – for
use with GSSI’s air-launched horn antennas. Pavement
layers are easily identified using the new EZ Tracker point and
click technique. Results are provided in both graphical
and generic ASCII text file formats for integration with other
programs and databases. Incorporates a unique horn antenna
calibration feature that applies calibration values at each individual
scan location, eliminating the requirement to enter sporadic
ground-truth (core) data for calibration.
Bridge Professionals:
Bridge Assessment Module – for
performing condition assessment (deterioration-mapping) of bridge
decks and other reinforced concrete structures using GSSI’s
patented data analysis method. Also for identifying rebar
and determining concrete cover over rebar on new reinforced concrete
structures. The Bridge Assessment module helps users find
deteriorated areas in a concrete structure and computes the depth
of the reinforcing steel over the whole structure.
