Unsurpassed Data Results in a Lightweight EM Instrument

The Profiler EMP-400 is GSSI’s powerful electromagnetic induction tool. This EMI product was built from the ground up using a proprietary source cancellation and calibration system to create the greatest signal stability on the market at an affordable price.

Profiler’s system structure, electronics and coils are designed for maximum structural and thermal stability. These key features minimize signal drift and maintain an accurate zero level and system null across the full bandwidth of the system, whereas signal drift is a common problem with other currently available EMI instruments. These older instruments, which do not incorporate the advanced electronics and software control employed in the Profiler, produce data with significant problems that cause inaccurate results.

Profiler - EM System by GSSI

Using Bluetooth™ technology, the streamlined Profiler system utilizes a wireless PDA data logger to eliminate noise inducing cables, which in turn produces the most accurate EMI data on the market. Profiler can be configured to simultaneously measure up to three frequencies between 1000 Hz and 16,000 Hz with a fixed coil separation. By acquiring multiple frequencies, the user can select the frequencies providing the best data results for a specific application. Data is also provided in real-time for quick results in the field.

Data collection with Profiler’s easy to read graphic interface is simple, and the system weighs in at only 9.9 pounds for maximum portability. Profiler can be utilized for near-surface investigations in rough terrain where many other tools simply won’t perform due to rugged environmental limitations, making it a complementary technology to our GPR products.

Profiler Benefits:

  • Very user-friendly system
  • Unmatched signal stability
  • Multi-frequency system
  • Lightweight – weighs only 9.9 pounds

ArcheoSurveyor Software

ArcheoSurveyor has been specifically developed to meet the needs of today’s archaeological geophysicist. With it, you can download data directly from Profiler (and many other commonly used geophysical survey instruments) or import from most file formats, assemble the resulting grids using intuitive drag-and-drop thumbnail images of the grids and apply a wide range of filters and operations to the data; modifying, removing or reordering any step at any time.

The data can be displayed in a range of views including Shade, Trace, 3D, Relief, Delta and Spreadsheet. Extensive metadata such as dates, operators names, etc. can be stored with the survey. Multiple views of the same composite or different composites, even from different sites, can be displayed simultaneously. Graphic views of the data can be saved as BMP, PNG or TIFF files, all of which ensure no loss of detail through lossy data compression.
