Territory Manager Canada

Territory Manager needed to oversee all activities with respect to business development and target attainment in the assigned territory. The Territory Manager is the primary interface for all correspondence with end-use customers in the assigned territory and will provide training support to end-use customers.  This position is based in Canada and will be filled by a Canadian resident.  Compensation commensurate with experience.

Duties Include:

  1. Responsive to all customer inquiries for commercial and technical support
  2. Conduct on premise product demonstrations as necessary
  3. Organize participation in key territory trade shows
  4. Track customer activities into CRM database
  5. Draft a territory plan aimed at attaining the annual bookings objective. The plan should identify development plans, key marketing initiatives - trade shows, customer seminars, technical training, etc.
  6. Communicate competitive and relevant product requirements from the field back to Marketing

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  1. A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Archaeology, Geology, Geophysics, Physics or Civil Engineering.
  2. 5+ years related industrial sales experience, ideally involving sales of ground penetrating radar.
  3. Ability to sell effectively to all levels within the customer organization. 
  4. Skills at fielding commercial and technical questions
  5. Understanding customer needs,
  6. Positioning GSSI product attributes,
  7. Success at selling against the competition, and
  8. All aspects of pre and post-sales support.

FPGA/EMBEDDED FIRMWARE ENGINEER

This is a senior engineering position for someone with broad engineering experience designing embedded hardware and firmware for portable instrumentation. He/she will be responsible for hardware and firmware design of systems with high speed ADCs, FPGAs, and microprocessors.

Duties include:

  1. Participating in development of a new generation of subsurface imaging equipment with application to worldwide utility, construction, mining, civil engineering, forensic and security markets;
  2. Designing signal processing circuitry including an embedded processor, FPGA and high speed ADC;
  3. Supporting a robust and synchronized Wi-Fi link to an external controller;
  4. Understanding the goals of each design project and participating constructively in developing specs;
  5. Detailing design specifications as the design proceeds;
  6. Suggesting changes when opportunities for improvement become evident;
  7. Modifying first approaches when changes become necessary; and
  8. Supporting concurrent development of other parts of the system design.


Ideal candidates will have the following knowledge and experience:

  1. A minimum education of a BS or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering;
  2. 5+ years of industry related experience;
  3. Ability to work productively with minimal direct supervision;
  4. Familiarity with embedded processors (ARM preferred);
  5. Experience developing low level code and firmware for a variety of platforms;
  6. Altera or Xilinx design tools and VHDL experience preferred;
  7. Understanding of basic DSP concepts and implementation;
  8. Strong hardware and software debugging skills;
  9. C, C++ experience;
  10. Matlab experience a plus;
  11. SoC experience a plus; and
  12. Experience designing instrumentation to be produced in volumes around 1000 units per year.

Real Time Embedded Software Engineer

This is a senior engineering position for someone with broad experience in real time software design with responsibility for both embedded and remote software for a line of portable instrumentation.

Duties include:

  1. Participating in development of a new generation of subsurface imaging equipment with application to worldwide utility, construction, mining, civil engineering, forensic and security markets;
  2. Designing a robust Wi-Fi communications link running on an embedded microprocessor to an external controller for data storage;
  3. Designing display/control applications to be installed for remote control use;
  4. Detailing design specifications as the design proceeds;
  5. Suggesting changes when opportunities for improvement become evident;
  6. Modifying first approaches when changes become necessary; and
  7. Supporting concurrent development of other parts of the system design.


Ideal candidates will have the following knowledge and experience:

  1. A minimum education of a BS, CS or advanced degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering;
  2. 5 years of industry experience and a proven track record of having developed applications using a Wi‑Fi data link;
  3. Ability to work with hardware engineers and their tools (oscilloscopes, meters, etc.);
  4. Understanding of real time programming and RTOS;
  5. Familiarity with embedded processors (ARM preferred);
  6. C, C++ experience ;
  7. Matlab, Linux experience a plus;
  8. Ability to implement DSP operations;
  9. Familiarity with NEON a plus;
  10. Thorough understanding of real time streaming communications and standard communications protocols; and
  11. Ability to work productively with minimal direct supervision
